Holcim Argentina, a prominent cement producer, aims to achieve a significant milestone by utilizing 75% renewable energy throughout the latter half of 2023.Â
This ambitious goal stems from an agreement established with 360 Energy earlier in April 2023, signaling the renewable power provider’s collaboration across all of Holcim Argentina’s cement production sites.
The initiative is anticipated to yield substantial environmental benefits, with Holcim Argentina forecasting a reduction of 68,600 tonnes per year of CO2 emissions from its operations.
In a concerted effort to enhance sustainability, the company has invested in facility upgrades, targeting a 6% reduction in water consumption by the conclusion of 2023.
To support these sustainability endeavors, Holcim Argentina has committed a significant investment of US$1 million for ongoing and planned upgrades within its facilities.
Moreover, the company plans to allocate an additional US$4.9 million towards further advancements in the near future.
This forward-looking approach showcases Holcim Argentina’s commitment to bolstering its environmental footprint, emphasizing renewable energy adoption and resource efficiency measures as integral components of its operational strategy.
