Iberdrola, an energy utility company, announced that its subsidiary, Scottish Power, has secured two contracts in the United Kingdom in the government’s sixth round of auctions for contracts for difference.

The new project will build on its predecessor’s success. It is situated adjacent to the existing East Anglia ONE, which has been generating renewable energy with its 102 turbines since 2020.
East Anglia ONE supplies clean energy to approximately 630,000 households across the UK.
Additionally, a new contract has been secured for 158 MW of the East Anglia THREE project, which will have a total capacity of 1,400 MW.
Currently under construction and scheduled to commence operations in 2026, East Anglia THREE will generate clean energy sufficient to power 1.3 million homes.

The East Anglia offshore wind projects are set to stimulate economic investment and boost job and business prospects throughout the East of England.
Building on the success of East Anglia ONE, Iberdrola will collaborate with local authorities and universities throughout the construction of East Anglia TWO and East Anglia THREE to ensure that the economic advantages benefit the local community.
These contracts complement the company’s efforts to develop offshore wind energy projects worldwide, contributing to the energy transition and the decarbonisation of the economy.
