Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd. (IREDA) and Punjab National Bank (PNB) have forged a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to propel renewable energy projects across India.
The collaboration aims to facilitate joint efforts in co-lending and loan syndication for various renewable energy initiatives.
The MoU encompasses various aspects, including joint lending, loan syndication, underwriting, and managing Trust and Retention Account (TRA) for IREDA borrowers.
Additionally, the agreement seeks to achieve competitive terms of sanction, including pricing on IREDA borrowings. Moreover, the partnership allows both entities to invest in bonds issued by either organization.
IREDA Chairman Pradip Kumar Das expressed that this strategic partnership signifies a significant milestone in accelerating the growth of renewable energy in India.
By leveraging their combined strengths and resources, the collaboration aims to provide robust financial support to various renewable energy projects, promoting sustainability and environmental consciousness.
The initiative aligns with the government’s commitment to achieving 500 GW of non-fossil-based electricity generation capacity by 2030, as announced during COP26.
Additionally, this collaboration strengthens IREDA’s existing partnerships with other leading financial institutions, underscoring their shared focus on advancing renewable energy projects nationwide.
