Renewable energy company Low Carbon said on Tuesday that it received funding for the construction of a 385-megawatt portfolio of solar and battery storage projects in Britain.
The projects are expected to start construction this year and are part of a 3-gigawatt pipeline of solar and battery storage projects.
Steve Mack, Chief Investment Officer at Low Carbon, mentioned that these projects will help Britain reach its goal of net zero emissions by 2050.
Simultaneously, the company aims to achieve its target of delivering 20 GW of new renewable energy capacity by 2030.
The solar projects, together measuring to 290 megawatts, are anticipated to generate energy equivalent to powering 85,000 UK homes.
Additionally, 95 megawatts of battery storage projects will be situated at the solar project sites.
