Siemens Energy is confident it can address quality problems in its onshore wind division. Still, it might take several years, according to the CEO’s written statements released before the company’s annual general meeting.
CEO Christian Bruch said, “The losses we incurred in our wind business and the underlying problems are unacceptable. We will not tolerate them,”
“We are resolutely tackling them and will ultimately solve them.”
The main issue lies with the quality of Siemens Energy’s newer onshore wind turbines, specifically the 4.X and 5.X platforms.
Fixing these problems may take several years, according to Bruch. Siemens Energy’s annual general meeting is set for February 26.
Investors will likely criticize the company for the drop in share prices due to turbine issues, which prompted the company to seek billions of euros in state-backed guarantees.
“We will solve these wind-power problems. We will win back your trust, the trust of our owners,” Bruch said.
