Trina Solar, a global leader in smart photovoltaic and energy storage solutions, has partnered with AMEA Power to supply its Elementa 2 platform, delivering 5MWh for the Abydos Battery Energy Storage Project. This groundbreaking 300MWh project is one of Africa’s largest solar PV initiatives and marks Egypt’s first utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Solution (BESS).

AMEA Power hosted the launch ceremony of the 500MW Abydos Solar Power Plant, with guest dignitaries such as Egypt’s Prime Minister, His Excellency Dr. Mostafa Madbouly and the Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, His Excellency Dr. Mahmoud Esmat, while Trina Solar executives attended, as the company was represented to show its support for this landmark project. The project is a first energy storage project by Trina Solar in the Middle East and Africa region.

ZTPC’s Contribution to Egypt’s Energy Landscape
Energy China ZTPC played a key role in the successful completion of the Abydos Solar Power Plant, now commercially operational.
