Macquarie Asset Management announced that it aims to acquire, using its managed funds, an additional stake worth 39.25% in the Lynn and Inner Dowsing offshore wind farms using funds managed by BlackRock.
Located off the coast of Lincolnshire, Lynn and Inner Dowsing offshore wind farms have been operational since 2009.
Together, these adjacent facilities have a combined installed capacity of around 194 MW, providing electricity to power over 160,000 UK homes annually.
Macquarie GIG Renewable Energy Fund 1 purchased a 60.75% majority stake in Lynn and Inner Dowsing in 2016.
By utilizing Macquarie GIG Renewable Energy Fund 2 and a Macquarie Asset Management Private Wealth Fund, this deal will result in Macquarie Asset Management owning the entire 100% stake in the wind farms.

“Ensuring the successful operation of these projects into the future, alongside the continued scaling-up of offshore wind capacity, will be key to meeting the UK’s energy security ambitions, and we are proud to be supporting this journey.”
For over ten years, Macquarie Group has been actively investing in the UK’s offshore wind sector and stands as one of its largest investors. The group has financed numerous projects and crucial infrastructure, contributing to about half of the UK’s operational offshore wind capacity.
