The International Finance Corporation (IFC), part of the World Bank Group, unveiled a financing package worth MXN 6,011 million (US$301 million) to support Vinte Viviendas Integrales, S.A.B. de C.V. (Vinte).
The funding aims to alleviate Mexico’s housing need, promote climate goals, and expand access to affordable, energy-efficient housing.

Financing Details and Strategic Support for Vinte
The financing package includes an MXN 1,150 million (US$58 million) “A” loan that will assist Vinte in purchasing Servicios Corporativos Javer S.A.B. de C.V. (Javer), one of the top real estate developers in Mexico. Additionally, working cash requirements and post-acquisition capital expenditures will be covered by this loan.
Furthermore, through debt and equity investments, IFC’s efforts to raise private sector funds will draw up to MXN 4,861 million (US$243 million), improving the credit profile of the entire financing package and allowing Vinte to access Mexico’s local bond market despite the country’s current economic difficulties.
Promoting Green Building Standards and Climate Goals
The Vinte Green PCG Project aligns with Mexico’s national objectives to boost private sector investment in sustainable infrastructure. The project follows green building standards to minimize environmental impact and support Mexico’s climate change mitigation and adaptation efforts.
Vinte, known for pioneering EDGE-certified homes (Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies), plans to certify at least 90% of its new homes under these standards, ensuring substantial energy and water consumption savings.

Domingo Valdés Díaz, CFO and Board Member of Vinte, said, “Thanks to the strong strategic relationship with partners such as the IFC, Vinte has come the homebuilder with the largest number of EDGE homes certified worldwide and has been able to grow in total annual revenues more than 24x since 2008, considering Javer acquisition´s proforma as of the 3Q of 2024.”
The Vinte Green PCG Project will boost affordable housing availability and improve water and energy efficiency. By increasing Vinte’s competitiveness in Mexico’s housing sector, the project will encourage a broader industry-wide use of green building practices.
