MYTILINEOS Energy & Metals announced the development of a 588 MW solar portfolio in Chile, which is expected to produce approximately 1.6 TWh of green electricity annually.
MYTILINEOS reached the financial close with BNP Paribas, Intesa San Paolo, Sumitomo Mitsubishi Banking Corporation, Rabobank, and Santander Chile.
Once constructed, the solar parks – Willka, Doña Antonia, Tocopilla and Tamarico in Chile – are expected to reduce over 600 thousand tons of carbon dioxide emissions per year.
- Willka energized in August has a total investment of over $110 million and will contribute 109,2 MWp
- Doña Antonia will be energized in early 2024
- Tocopilla and Tamarico are expected to be energized in the second quarter of 2024
Enel Chile will purchase most of the power generated by the four projects.
This marks MYTILINEOS’ venture in Chile and its fifth in securing funding for international solar PV projects.
The cumulative capacity of MYTILINEOS’ global Renewable Energy Sources portfolio, spanning projects in more than 30 countries and continually growing, now surpasses 13.8 GW.
