Reach Subsea has officially confirmed the successful delivery of the REACH REMOTE 1 uncrewed surface vessel (USV), marking the completion of technical installations, testing, and documentation. This milestone represents a significant advancement in uncrewed subsea technology.
Reach Subsea is gearing up for sea trials with its second vessel, REACH REMOTE 2, and plans to deliver it soon after.
Revolutionizing Subsea Operations
The 24-meter REACH REMOTE USV features advanced hull-mounted survey sensors and a Work Class Electric ROV, operating without a crew. Built to revolutionize subsea operations, it boosts efficiency, safety, and sustainability, aiming for 90% lower emissions than traditional vessels.
Bjørg Mathisen Døving, VP Reach Remote of Reach Subsea, said, “Reach Remote is an extraordinary journey, bringing together the unique expertise of Kongsberg Maritime, Reach Subsea, and Massterly shaping the future of uncrewed offshore operations. We are thrilled to see the Reach Remote 1 set sail and prepared for its first mission.”
Preparing for Pilot Projects with Energy Leaders
Reach Subsea is now equipping REACH REMOTE 1 with subsea tools for a pilot project alongside Equinor, TotalEnergies, and other major energy companies. The vessel will undertake a variety of tasks, including surveys, ROV interventions, inspection, maintenance, repair (IMR), and monitoring.
The pilot project will showcase the vessel’s capabilities through offshore operations at Troll, Gullfaks, Snorre, and including Åsgard production fields.
