Iberdrola and the Norwegian sovereign wealth fund, managed by Norges Bank Investment Management, are set to invest $2 billion in renewable energy projects based in Spain and Portugal over the next three years.
This deal doubled their joint investment in renewable energy, with Iberdrola retaining a 51% stake in the assets.
Announced at the World Economic Forum in Davos, this deal aims to add 1,300 MW of renewable energy capacity, with 674 MW already in development across the Iberian Peninsula. The total capacity would be added in the following months taking the total capacity to 2600 MV.
