On Tuesday, over 100 financial institutions across the globe including Schroders, Robeco, Nomura Asset Management, Mirova, Fidelity International, Federated Hermes, and Candriam, declared that they will begin releasing TNFD-aligned financial disclosures, either starting in 2024 or 2025 at the latest.
64 out of the 105 institutions will start their declarations in 2024, while the rest will begin in 2025.
Taskforce for Nature-related Financial Disclosures has developed a set of recommendations and guidelines to help businesses and financial institutions inculcate nature investments and their impact on nature as businesses.
The provided recommendations and guidance aim to facilitate the integration of natural considerations into business and financial decision-making processes. The overarching goal is to drive a global shift in financial flows, encouraging businesses to assess, report, and address their impacts, risks, and opportunities related to nature. The ultimate objective is to move away from nature-negative outcomes and promote nature-positive outcomes, aligning with the goals outlined in the Global Biodiversity Framework.
