Watershed, a climate software company, raised $100 million in a Series C funding round led by investment firm Greenoaks, valuing the company at $1.8 billion.
Other contributors include Sequoia Capital, Kleiner Perkins, and Galvanize Climate Solutions.
Watershed, founded in 2019, makes software that helps companies measure and reduce their greenhouse gas emissions.
The climate firm, known for collaborating with various companies like General Mills and Carlyle, announced plans to increase its investment in Europe with the newly acquired funds.
Greenoaks managing partner Neil Mehta said in a statement, “Carbon measurement and climate disclosures are shifting quickly from optional to mandatory.”
The company plans to invest in providing detailed emissions measurements and easily auditable sustainability reports for its clients.
In February 2022, it reached a valuation of $1 billion after securing $70 million in its Series B funding round, with notable investors like former US Vice President Al Gore.
