Lucknow-based sustainable energy-tech startup, Urja Sathi, has recently closed a significant seed funding round, raising INR 3.5 Million. Visionary entrepreneurs and investors Ankitt Jain and Sharlee Jain led the funding round, with Pror In Pvt Ltd, represented by its Co-Founders Neeraj Kumar Pawar and Ayu Sharma, facilitating the seed investment.
Founded in 2023, the start-up aims to transform India’s clean energy sector through its innovative online marketplace dedicated to renewable energy-based products and services, initially focusing on solar solutions. The startup’s mission gained traction at the PROR India Wealth Summit, leading to its maiden funding round after being bootstrapped.
Expressing excitement about the investment, Anurag Srivastava, Founder of Urja Sathi, stated, “We thank our esteemed investors Ankitt Jain and Sharlee Jain for endorsing Urja Sathi’s mission.” The funds raised will be used to acquire talent, enhance customer support, and bolster marketing efforts to expand visibility among both B2B and B2C audiences.
Investors Ankitt Jain and Sharlee Jain emphasized the venture’s potential to revolutionize India’s clean energy business. Saurabh Jain, Co-Founder at FSV Capital and advisor at Urja Sathi, praised the startup’s commitment to sustainability and innovation.
With India aiming to secure 50 percent of its power requirements from renewable sources by 2030, Urja Sathi plans to address challenges such as low awareness and financial viability issues. The platform intends to launch its flagship ‘Urja Sathi mobile app’ by April 2024 and onboard over 5000 solar manufacturers, EPC players, and sustainable energy solutions providers across India within the next year.
Looking ahead, Urja Sathi plans to expand its focus beyond solar, including Green Hydrogen, EV, wind, and other emerging segments within India’s green energy landscape. The recent seed funding marks a significant step towards achieving these ambitious goals and contributing to India’s clean energy transition.
