Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump interviewed billionaire Elon Musk for two hours on Musk’s social media platform X on Monday.
However, technical issues delayed the event by over 40 minutes.
Trump sought to spin the issues into a positive, congratulating Musk on the high number of listeners. At times, up to 1.3 million people were tuning in to the lengthy conversation, according to a counter on X.
Musk, the world’s richest person, announced his support for Trump shortly after Trump’s attempted assassination, despite Trump’s opposition to state support for electric carmakers like Tesla.

Although Musk supported Democratic President Joe Biden in 2020, he has shifted rightward since then.
Donald Trump mocked climate change concerns, claiming rising ocean levels would simply create “more oceanfront property.” Surprisingly, Elon Musk, who left Trump’s presidential advisory councils in 2017 over the Paris Climate Accord withdrawal, did not contest Trump’s comments.
Musk’s silence during the interview contrasts with his previous statements about climate change, where he emphasized Tesla’s role in reducing the risk of catastrophic climate events.
His decision not to challenge Trump has raised questions about his current stance on climate issues.

Meanwhile, Trump has eased his criticism of electric vehicles, acknowledging Musk’s leadership at Tesla.
On Monday, Trump was notably active on Musk’s social media platform, making at least eight posts in the hours before the interview.
