Origin Energy named Tony Lucas as its new finance chief on Thursday as the Australian electricity retailer transitions towards greener energy alternatives.
Lucas, who will become the chief financial officer on July 1, is currently the executive general manager of Origin’s future energy and technology division.
The appointment of Lucas comes after the company announced in February that its current chief officer, Lawrie Tremaine, will retire from the position on June 30 after serving for seven years.
Origin Energy said Tremaine will remain with the company till the end of July to enable a smooth transition.
With over thirty years of expertise in finance, strategy, regulatory policy, and advocacy, among other areas, Lucas has been part of Origin’s executive leadership team since 2016.
